My Opinion of the Oscars 2015: Best Supporting Actor/Actress

Best Supporting Actor:

J.K Simmons more than deserves this award for perhaps the greatest supporting performance of the year. Fletcher will go down in history as one of the timeless psychopaths in film. Aside from Simmons, the general quality of this category seems extremely high (although Robert Duvall's nomination is fairly dubious, The Judge didn't seem to catch anyone's attention at all) and I can vouch for Edward Norton being simply brilliant in Birdman.

Best Supporting Actress:

Not particularly qualified in this sector. All I can say however is Meryl Streep's nomination seemed to be more than a little arbitrary, and Emma Stone was totally worthy of her nomination. Arquette's performance from Boyhood seemed universally well received, and so she would at least appear to be a solid winner.
